Charles "Charlie" Lewis Burhop

Charles “Charlie” L. Burhop, age 60 of Mankato, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato after a long illness.

Celebration of Life will be from 5:00-7:00pm Friday, July 30, 2021 at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.

Charles Lewis was born March 20, 1961 in Alexander City, AL to James T. and Earline (Sargent) Tate. Charles graduated from Waseca High School. He married Mary Goettl. Their marriage resulted in two wonderful sons, Johnathan and Danny. Although they divorced, they remained good friends. Charlie worked many years at HyVee as a cook. Besides loving his job, he loved Elvis! He visited Graceland four times and enjoyed impersonating Elvis. Charles was a huge Chicago Bears fan, win or lose! He loved his karaoke friends and singing. Family and friends that know him, knew he loved to laugh, tell jokes, and make everyone smile!

The family would like to thank the staff at Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato for their tender loving care. They would also like to thank his HyVee coworkers who were so good to him during his illness. Lastly, they would like to thank his community of friends for their ongoing support – in good times and bad!

Left to remember Charlie are his sons: Johnathan and Danny; siblings: Tom, Carolyn Burhop, Barb (Jeff) Louks, Jenn (Russ) Redman, Dennis (Donna), Angela (Greg) Bishop, and Linda (Philip) Grant; parent, David Burhop; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his biological father, mother and grandparents.
