Charles Lyle “Chuck” LaGow, age 85 of Mankato, died Friday, February 21, 2020 at New Perspectives Senior Living in Mankato.

Chuck was born June 7th, 1934 to Lyle and Alice (Orr) LaGow. He enlisted in the Navy at age 17 and served 4 years during the Korean conflict. He later completed courses to obtain his high school diploma and took additional classes at Mankato College.

All who knew Chuck remember his work ethic and determination for results that drove him to succeed in many business ventures. Chuck owned LaGow Development and Construction Company among other businesses. He had a knack for finding business opportunities and seeing them through to fruition.

In addition, Chuck had a deep concern for his community. A few of the organizations he served in included the Mankato Jaycees, Mankato Ambassadors, Mankato Builders Exchange and the Immanuel Hospital Board of Directors. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Elks Lodge.

Chuck lived life to the fullest through his devotion to his family, his many adventures with his hunting and fishing buddies, and of course his deep, deep love of dogs, especially his faithful companion, Missy.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Barb LaGow of New Ulm, Patti (Chip) Kudrle of Shakopee, Ryan (Angela) Hylland of Seattle; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Padilla of North Mankato, Elaine (Pete) Brown of North Mankato and Sally (Dave) Derner of Sioux Falls; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue; son, Michael; brother, John; and sister, Kathleen.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers of Mayo Hospice, New Perspectives, and Home Instead Sr. Care.
