Clinton Gerald Lindemann, age 84, longtime resident of Mapleton, died on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at The Pillars of Mankato.
Visitation will be held from 4-7pm, Friday, April 30, 2021 at United Church of Mapleton. Memorial service will be 11am, Saturday, May 1, 2021 at United Church of Mapleton with visitation one hour prior. Military honors will follow the service. Interment will be at Sunset Rest Cemetery in Rushmore at a later date. Please share a memory of Clinton with his family at www.mankatomortuary.com.
Clinton Gerald, the son of Herman and Jesse (Onken) Lindemann, was born on December 8, 1936 in Adrian, MN. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1954. On January 6, 1955, he entered the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged on November 6, 1958. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Carole Joyce on March 28, 1957 in New Jersey. Together, they moved to Rushmore, MN to farm and start a family. Clinton completed Highway Patrol Academy in 1963 and they moved around Minnesota, including Worthington, Breckenridge, Lakeville, Cedar Grove, Bemidji, and Mankato. He served as a pilot for the Minnesota State Patrol and retired in 1997. After retirement, he delivered auto parts for Bumper to Bumper, later O’Reilly Auto Parts, and also delivered mail. He was a member of United Church of Mapleton and Faith Bible Church. He also enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, going to auctions, and relaxing with a coke and a smoke.
He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey (Coleen) Lindemann of Mapleton, Timothy (Phyllis) Lindemann of Windom, and Brian (Dee) Lindemann of Faribault; 4 foster children; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Ducommon of Madison, WI; and sister-in-law, Bev Lindemann of Luverne.
He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law; wife, Dorothy; daughter, Michelle Lindemann; sister, Lorraine Mueller; and brother, Stan “Red” Lindemann.
