Craig Douglas Nielsen

Craig Douglas Nielsen, age 64, of St. Peter, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary as well as one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.

Craig was born July 22, 1955 to Carl and Regea (Kalbow) Nielsen. In his early years, Craig worked for the family's business, Nielsen Blacktopping. Craig carried on his father's legacy as owner and operator for many years before proudly passing the company to his own children. Craig continued to be an active part of the business completing bids and running the seal coating division. Craig spent much of his time on another passion of his- hosting Karaoke at local businesses.

In his free time Craig enjoyed collecting classic cars, raising quail and woodworking, where he created elaborate gifts for his children and grandchildren. Craig's favorite holiday was the 4th of July, where you would find him running Karaoke and setting off an amazing firework show for family and friends. 

Craig was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Pat and together they proudly raised their blended and ever growing family.

Craig is survived by his stepmother, Kay; wife, Pat; children, Chane, Chad (Maja), Trent (Sarah), Jeramie (Jessica), Jessica, Carl (Amy), Heather (Jon), Kristi, Ashley, Daisy, Vincent, Gregory, B-yonka, Valentine and Jo-lee; 24 grandchildren; siblings; Linda, Carol, Peggy, Cheryl, Jim and Corrina; in-laws, Terry, Tim, Danny and Sandy; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; father and mother in-law, Paul and Sally; in-laws, Joe, Gloria, Randy, Candy, Elmer; and niece, Candie Marie.
