Curtiss K. Stydel, age 90 of Mankato, died Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Pathstone Living.

A Celebration service will be held at a later date.

Curtiss Stydel was born December 9, 1929 to Walter and Verona (Somnitz) Stydel in Mankato, Minnesota. He attended Mankato Schools. Curtiss was united in marriage to Lorraine Deef on July 5, 1952 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in North Mankato. He worked for 38 years at Midtex as a supervisor before the plant closed. He continued to work at District 77 as a custodian. Curtiss was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially enjoyed mowing his lawn.

Curtiss is survived by his wife Lorraine of Mankato; three children, Susan (Tim) Ray of Mankato, Steven (Lisa) Stydel of Watertown, SD, Sheila (Rick) Reisenbigler of Westminster, CO; seven grandchildren, Jackson Ray, Rhiannon Ray, Brogon Ray, Melissa (Tyler) Gall, Michael Stydel, Ann (Justin) Vargas, C.J. (Kat) Reisenbigler; two great-grandchildren, Lydia and Henry Gall.

Preceded in death by his parents.
