Cynthia Alice Vogelgesang, 69, of Madison Lake, passed unexpectedly May 10, 2023 in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Northview North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Dr., in North Mankato. Visitation will take place from 4-7 pm., Friday, May 19, 2023 at Northview North Mankato Mortuary and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. A private burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Madison Lake at a later date.
Cindy was born May 5, 1954 to Marvin “Pete” and Alice “Babe” (Zrust) Wheaton in St. Paul, Minnesota. She graduated from Frank B. Kellogg High School in 1972. On June 14, 1975, Cindy married Richard “Bim” W. Vogelgesang, II in Maplewood, Minnesota at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church. Together they raised two children, Rich and Tara.
Cindy owned several businesses with her husband, Bim for many years, most notably the Slumberland Furniture store in Mankato. In her free time, she enjoyed biking, golfing, boating and spending winters at her home in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. She was happiest when surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Bim; children, Rich (Dani Westerlund) Vogelgesang, III of Madison Lake and Tara (Joey) Nussmeier of Eden Prairie; grandchildren, Domanik, Brayden, and Richard “Wil”, IV Vogelgesang and Jasper and Louisa Nussmeier; siblings, Gary (Jan) Wheaton, Sue (Lou) Grimaldi and Diane Rudeen; father-in-law, Richard “Dick” Vogelgesang, Sr.; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents.
