Dale Lester Becker

September 15, 1938 — March 2, 2024

North Mankato, MN

Dale Lester Becker died on Saturday, March 2nd, at his cabin near Aitkin, surrounded by his family.

Dale was born in Mankato on September 15, 1938, to Anna and Conrad Becker, joining his brothers George and Robert (Bob), and sisters Jean (Lutz) and Lois (Strobel). He married Lorraine Sheryl Allen in 1964 and they were married 40 years and had 3 children:   Laura (Corrie Johnson), Lisa, and Bryan (Angie). Later in life, he was fortunate enough to meet his second partner, Deloris Fitterer, and they enjoyed many happy years together.

Dale worked early on as a printer for the Mankato Free Press, and then retired after 22 years of service to the City of Mankato. In his younger days, he loved hunting, trapping, and fishing with his brothers and many close buddies like Tom Marsden, whom he spoke of fondly so often in his recent years. He loved camping and traveling, and  spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.  He loved the warmth and community of Mesa, Arizona, bowling and puttering with anything mechanical.

Dale is survived by his partner, Deloris and her family, and his children and 9 grandchildren: Jared Gilman (Brittany), Zach Pearberg (Olivia), Wyatt Johnmeier (Payton); Kayleigh Fallon (Brian), Brandon Reemer (Caitlin), Weston Reemer (Samantha); Ethan, Isaiah, and Caleb Becker; and 7 great grandchildren: Aidan Allen Reemer; River Lorraine, Edwin Coad, and Rhys Wayne Gilman; Reyna Linner and William Dale Pearberg; and Charlotte Mae Reemer.  He is also survived by his in-laws Judy Becker, Judy & Lester Rustman, JoAnn Allen, Bud & Rose Allen, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine, parents and siblings.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 8, at 5:00, at Northview Mortuary in North Mankato with visitation at 4:00pm. Condolences for the family can be left at www.mankatomortuary.com.
