Daniel Mark Caballero went to be with his Lord after a 6 month battle with Cancer, on November 24, 2020 in Mankato, MN, at the age of 61. He passed peacefully while at Mayo Clinic Hospital, with his Daughter Rebecca Hopp at his side.
Dan was born on June 2, 1959, in Mankato Minnesota to Jesse Caballero and Juanita Caballero. He worked at the Mankato Free Press as a Pressman for a majority of his life, and following generations of Caballero’s there. Dan loved his country, fishing, hunting, shooting, riding his motorcycle and talking about his faith in God. . He also enjoyed spending a significant amount of time with his beloved Siberian Husky dog, Kaylee.
Dan is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Hopp (45), Danielle Lanser (31), Kelli Caballero (31), and Michelle Bowlds (31); his Grandchildren, Emma Hopp (20), Avery Hopp (17), Haley Hopp-Jackson (9), Brayden Lanser (12), Witten Lanser (5), Maya Caballero-Hardie (3 mo), and Kyla Bowlds (7). He is also survived by his sisters, Gloria Caballero and Linda Caballero, in addition to his nephews, Ian Johnson and Sean Johnson, and his nieces, Amy Bleecker and April Bleecker. He was preceded in death by his Father, Jesse Caballero on 12/31/2007 and his Mother, Juanita Caballero on 2/26/2008.
Dan will be remembered for always sharing stories about his family, and his deep unwavering love for them all, especially his grandkids.
The family has already held a private service at his favorite hunting spot, where his ashes were spread. Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
In the words of Christian singer Jeremy Camp: “There will be a day, with no more tears, no more pain, no more fears” We know Dan is in a better place with his Lord and Savior.
