Darl M. Rah, 75, of Lonsdale, MN, formerly of Mankato, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
Darl was born on October 28, 1948, to Dick and Opal (Gish) Rah. He spent his early years in Waldorf, MN, before moving to Mankato, MN, where he graduated from Mankato High School, Class of 1966.
In 1967, Darl answered the call of duty and joined the United States Navy. He served his country with honor and dedication until his honorable discharge on January 16, 1970.
Darl's work ethic and passion for the open road led him to a career in truck driving, where he spent most of his adult life behind the wheel of tractor trailers and dump trucks. His love for pool was also evident in his entrepreneurial spirit, as he owned and operated two billiard halls, providing a place for many to gather and enjoy.
Darl had a deep love for music and movies, often sharing his favorite tunes and films with friends and family. Darl also found great joy riding his motorcycle on open roads and feeling the freedom of the wind in his face. His faithful dog, Sophie, brought him immense happiness.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Rah; his daughters, Heather Sandland and Kristen (Ray) Flowers; grandchildren, Skyler (Karissa) Sandland, Ezra Sandland, Noah Sandland, Austin (Kevin Davidson) Flowers, Trenton Flowers, Alexia Rah, Vayda Rah, and Richard Rah Jr.; great-granddaughter, Saylor Sandland; and nieces, nephews and numerous friends who will miss him dearly.
