Darlene Martha Louise Doedding, age 87, of Good Thunder, died peacefully on November 5, 2019. She went on to her heavenly home after battling a challenging colon cancer for 12 years.

Darlene was born on January 26, 1932, to Leonard and Lydia (Doering) Doedding in Mankato, MN. She attended Good Thunder Parochial and Public schools, and graduated from high school in 1950.

She lived and worked on the family farm most of her life, which was her total pride and joy. She was a perfectionist in keeping the home place in excellent condition. She received many compliments. In addition to the farm upkeep, she enjoyed quilting, stitchery, gardening, canning, ceramics, Ladies’ Aide, church activities, and volunteering. During the years she also worked as hospital nurse’s aid and did domestic help.

Survived by sister Cornelia (Connie) Ingham, nephew Chadwick Ingham and family Marlene, Jacob, and Alexis, from Raleigh, North Carolina.

Preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Lydia Doedding, and brother-in-law, Charles L. Ingham.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 8 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Good Thunder, MN at 11:30am. Visitation at 10:00am to 11:30am, prior to the funeral on Friday. Interment to follow the service at the church cemetery. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Good Thunder, or charity of choice.
