Darold C. Rupp

Darold C. Rupp, age 83, died Monday, December 30th, 2024, at the Pillars of Mankato. Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2025 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive with visitation at 10:00 a.m.

Darold was born to Clayton and Emma Rupp in Tracy, Minnesota. After graduating from Tracy High School he attended Augsburg College with a major in music. At Northwestern University in Evanston, IL he earned a Masters in Music. Darold taught music at the Tracy, Wabasso, Stewart, and Truman public schools as well as the St. Peter Lutheran and John Ireland parochial schools.

He directed the Lake Crystal Community Band and the Over 60 Band for many years. He enjoyed playing his trombone in the Mankato Community Band, the University Concert Wind Ensemble, the University Symphonic Band, and the Tuba Christmas concerts. He entertained residents at Old Main on the piano.  At Messiah Lutheran Church in North Mankato he was organist and choir director. He sang in the Prairie Arts Chorale, Musicorum and the Devine Singers.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia Rossing, his nephew, Ryan Rossing (Missy) and their six children and many other relatives and friends. Music was his life. He will be greatly missed.
