Darrin Palma

Darrin Palma, age 59, of Janesville, WI, formerly of New Prague, MN, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m., on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1300 Main Street E., New Prague, MN, with visitation one hour before at the church and a luncheon following.

Darrin was born on February 15, 1965, to Maylon and Carolyn (Dahl) Palma in Northfield, MN. He graduated from New Prague High School in 1983. Following high school, Darrin attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. Throughout school, sports were his passion. He played football, wrestled, and ran on the track and field team. He was a devoted New Prague Trojans, University of St. Thomas Tommies, and Minnesota Vikings fan - following them all and cheering faithfully.

Darrin spent his professional life in the world of IT. He was the family's go-to guy for any computer or electronic device issues and advice. He also was the world's best search guru! His daughter called him The Search Master.

The last few years, he spent a lot of time as a movie buff and listening to music. He was quick to invite neighbors to join him.

He loved motorcycles, cars, snowmobiles, and the wind and speed they brought. In his early teens, he drag-raced snowmobiles with his father, Maylon, and won many trophies. 

Darrin loved his family, especially his two children, Nathan and Olivia. He also had a love for animals of all sorts. Over the years pets ranged from freshwater fish, saltwater fish, birds, and of course - dogs. He leaves behind two parakeets named Sunny and Sky, two French bulldogs named Winston and Winnie, and a school of fish that Olivia is caring for sweetly. 

Darrin had a wonderful sense of humor which he carried to his final day even amidst pain. 

He will be missed by all who were lucky to have met him. 

Darrin is survived by his wife, Lisa of 30 years; son, Nathan and daughter, Olivia; mother, Carolyn; brother, Derek, as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Darrin was preceded in death by his father, Maylon.

Darrin encouraged friends and family that come to his service to dress comfortably, even in their favorite Trojans, Tommies, or Vikings wear.
