David Harold Childs

David Harold Childs, age 77, of Mankato passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019. Private family services will be held. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements. 

David was born on Christmas Day, 1941 to Gladys and Harold Childs in Mankato, MN. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1959 and served in the Air Force from 1959 to 1963. David retired from the Mankato Fire Department after 28 years of service.

He is survived by his five children, Debbie (Mike) Berens, Pam (Brad) Guss, Julie (Brad) Neaton, Sue (Tom) Holmquist, and Dan (Kathy) Childs; sister, Mary Sween; mother of his five children, Mary (Mike) Muedeking; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley Davis and brother John Childs.
