Dave was born December 29, 1953 to Jerome and Helen Neubert in Mankato.

Dave will be remembered for his passion. He believed that anything worth doing was worth doing well, and he applied that philosophy everywhere in his life—in his career and family life, but also in hobbies and leisure. In 2018 he retired from a respected 50+-year career in concrete, first at North Star Concrete in Mankato, then at Hancock Concrete in Courtland and Sioux Falls. He was well-known and well-regarded in the industry. He was admired for his craftsmanship. He built two homes, a cabin, and hundreds of pieces of furniture. He was skilled with the metal lathe, and he was a particularly talented cabinetmaker, a skill he spent his life refining. He had a great appetite for life—traveling through Europe and South America, duck hunting at his beloved cabin on Swan Lake, fishing, learning about history, tending to the goats and ducks and chickens of his hobby farm. Above all, he was kind, welcoming, and always delighted in the company of his friends and family, and he adored his grandchildren.

Dave is survived by his wife of 28 years, Patty; children, Erin Neubert (Tom Denneen), Jen Konicek, Joe Neubert, Matt (Hayley) Neubert, Liz (Dan) Krueger and Dan Lee; grandchildren, Charlie, Christopher, Julia, Abby, Evie, Emma, Collins, and Milo; siblings, Mary Jo (Tom) Jensen, Tom (Nancy Jo) Neubert, Nancy Ann Burgess, and Karen (Tom) Loveall; siblings-in-law, Ellen (Tom) Nygaard, Georgia (Gary) Gebhardt, Peter (Aurin) Gebhardt, Sarah (Gordy) Hammill, and Mary Devine as well as his beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Helen Neubert; parents-in-law, Art and Patty Gebhardt; brothers-in-law, Pete Burgess, Joe Gebhardt, Laddie Junkunc, Dan Devine, and lap companion, Mia.
