David Levi Schauer

David L. Schauer, age 83, of Mankato, died Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Pillars of Mankato.

Memorial Service for both David and Helen will be 1:30 p.m., June 7, 2025 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1735 E. Main Street, Mankato, MN 56001.

Memorial gifts should be directed to the Resurrection Lutheran Church memorial fund.

David Levi was born October 16, 1941, to George H and Esther (Rosenfeld) Schauer in St. Peter. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1959, and then Mankato State University with a BA in Economics.

David was united in marriage to Helen E. Miller on November 3, 1962, at Union Presbyterian Church, St. Peter, MN.

David worked as an accountant at Anderson & Seiberlich, CPA’s, St. Paul, MN from 1962-65, Willmar School System, as a Business Manager, in Willmar, MN from 1966-75, Iowa Falls Office Supply, as the owner, Iowa Falls, IA, 1975-92, and Vince Small CPA, as an accountant, Mankato, MN.

David and Helen began in 2003, spending winters in Gold Canyon, AZ RV/Gold Resort, they purchased a home in Las Palmas Grand, Mesa, AZ in July 2014 and in 2019 they moved to Colorado Springs, CO, and in 2021 they moved to Mankato.

David is survived by three sons, Mark (Peggy) Schauer of Myrtle Beach, SC, Scott (Heather) Schauer of Oklahoma City, OK, and Brad (Teresa) Schauer of Colorado Springs, CO; six grandchildren, Morgan, Emily, Baylee, Eleanor, Jaxon, and Nora, sister, Marion Pino, nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Schauer, parents, brother, Henry Schauer, and sister, Betty Gunnary.
