David P. Zender

David P. Zender, age 62, of Mankato, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 3, 2023, at his home.

Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary.  Visitation will be Wednesday, April 12 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, St. James. 

David was born on July 28, 1960, in Mountain Lake, MN to John and Ardyce (Gustafson) Zender.  He graduated from Butterfield-Odin High School in 1978 and graduated from St. Cloud State University.  David worked for the Honda House in St. Cloud for over 20 years before moving to Mankato and working with his brother, John at Starr Cycle.  David loved nature, animals, photography, and motorcycles.  He enjoyed the mountains and traveling to Colorado and Utah. 

David is survived by two sisters, Carol Wentzlaff and Susan (Al) Cassidy; sister-in-law, Wanda Zender; many nieces and nephews, and special companion, Mika the shop dog.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John; and brother-in-law, Steve.
