Dean C Speer

Dean C. Speer, age 89 of Mankato died Friday December 29, 2023, at Pathstone Living.

Funeral service 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 8, 2024, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church 1103 North Broad Street, Mankato, MN 56001. with visitation one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Burial Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Dean was born June 3, 1934, to Otto and Esther (Hopper) Speer in Minneapolis. After his schooling he served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married his wife Margaret in Minneapolis. After her death he married Mary Lou Bentz.

Dean worked for Lockheed Martin and Ford Motor Co. in their aerospace divisions.

Dean is survived by his son, Greg of Bethel Island, CA; stepchildren, Gail (Robert) Kodelka of Prior Lake, Thomas (Briana) Bentz of Eden Prairie; two step grandchildren, Nia and Zara Bentz; longtime friend Ramona Wilkening.

Preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Margaret, and Mary Lou; daughter, Denise; brother, Kent.
