North Mankato- Delaine R. Gamble, 93, of North Mankato, died Friday, June 19, 2020 at her home. She was blessed to be in her home until her death.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Mankato, Burial is in Woodland Hills Memorial Park Mankato. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are preferred to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church or Habitat for Humanity South Central Minnesota.
Delaine was born on November 4, 1926 to Arthur and Barbara (Bauer) Huber at Otter Creek, North Dakota. She attended a one-room school in Bluegrass, North Dakota. She met the love of her life and soulmate, Richard, in Bismarck, North Dakota. She married Richard M. Gamble on August 14, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, North Dakota. They made their home in Bismarck until they moved to Mankato, Minnesota in 1969. Delaine was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Widow to Widow group where she enjoyed the company and the pot-lucks. Delaine’s game of choice was Yahtzee, which she enjoyed playing with family and friends.
Delaine is survived by her children, Richard (Becky) of Woodbury and Connie and Tim Ireland of Mankato. She is survived by eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and four great, great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Rechol Philip, her loving caregiver who became a part of our family over this past year. JoHanna Thompson was also blessed in caring for her great-grandmother. We want to thank Mayo Hospice for their care.
Delaine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard, her three sisters and their husbands, two brothers-in-law and their wives, and her niece, Cheryl Colbert.
