Delores "Dee" Jean Thompson

Delores “Dee” Jean (Weimar) Thompson, age 94, of Eagle Lake left us peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the Mankato Mortuary, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.

Dee was born on June 20, 1930 to Hedwig and Frank Weimar in Mankato. She attended Franklin School, and graduated from Mankato High School in 1948. She was an employee of Brett’s Department Store over the course of many years. Dee married Thomas Beck in 1948, later they divorced. In 1970, she married Donald Thompson.

Dee was an excellent seamstress having made many formals, suits, wedding dresses, and even snowsuits. She had a green thumb; her pride and joy were her 20+ orchids. Dee enjoyed fishing, bird watching, gardening, researching genealogy, doing crosswords, crypto-quotes, jigsaw puzzles, and most recently Lego flowers. Her children and grandchildren were gifted often with handmade Christmas ornaments. Daily, she played solitaire and other card games. Above all, Dee’s true joy in life was being a devoted mom, and grandma to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Dee is survived by her children, Virginia (Lon) Lien of Worthington, MN, Catherine (Jim) Sieberg of Madison Lake, MN, Nancy Beadell, of Mankato, MN, Marilyn (Randy) Pierce of Janesville, MN, and Dennis Thompson, of Janesville, MN; step-son, Tom (Becky) Thompson of Waterville, MN; step-daughter-in-law, Connie Thompson of New Ulm, MN; sister-in-law, Delores Weimar of Mankato, MN; 24 grandchildren, many great and great -great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, and nephews.

Dee was preceded in death by husband, Donald; son, David Beck; step-son, Jerry Thompson; step-daughter, Judy Pringle, and siblings, Robert Weimar and Bernadine Faltersack.
