Dennis Eugene Nourie

Dennis Eugene Nourie, age 93, of Mankato passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Dennis Nourie was born on January 21, 1931, to the parents of Arthur and Pearl (Glad) Nourie. Dennis grew up on a farm in rural Nicollet, Minnesota. He attended grade school in Judson and later attended Nicollet country school, graduating from St. Peter High School in 1949. In January of 1951, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. Dennis served in Korea from 1952 – 1953 and received a Purple Heart and Medal of Accommodation Combat V.

On November 22, 1954, he married Geraldine (Jay) Wenner. From this union they had three sons. Dennis farmed for several months after he was married, and then worked for Dotson Co., Goettl Feed, Suburban Skellgas, Suburban Philgas, Infra-Red Directional Heat, and retired after 25 years with Hiniker Co.

Dennis is survived by his children, Mark (Dianne) Nourie, and Dan (Ann) Nourie; daughter-in-law, Tami Nourie; grandchildren, Jason (Darcy), Adam (Kelly), Jessica, Ryan, Leah (Andrew), Matt (Kyle), and Haley (Jeremiah); 12 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Nourie; son, Jeff Nourie; parents, Arthur and Pearl Nourie; 12 siblings, as well as brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.
