Donald "Duck" L. Pearson

Donald Pearson, affectionately known as “Duck”, passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 62 on February 10, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Duck was born on November 22nd, 1962 in Waconia, MN. Duck was later confirmed in faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine in 1976. He lived a life full of laughter, adventure, and solid friendships. An avid outdoorsman, Duck found joy in hunting and fishing with family and friends, spending Sundays cheering for the Vikings, and taking leisurely pontoon rides with the people he loved. For many years, Duck and Carrie provided an outstanding fireworks show for the people on Lake Washington. His heart, however, always led him back to the shores of Hawaii every year, where he made cherished memories with his loved ones.

Duck was renowned for wearing a matching t-shirt each day with Carrie, which made it easier to spot them in the crowd!

With a sharp wit and an easygoing spirit, Duck had a gift for making friends wherever he went. His sense of humor and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Duck is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Bernice Pearson, his brother, Robert Pearson, father figure, Roger Otto, and his infant son, Timothy Pearson.

Duck is survived by his beloved wife, Carrie Pearson; his children, David (Brittany) Pearson and Holly (Jordan) Dannecker; and his cherished grandchildren, Paige, Eve, Waylon, Louie, and Walker. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Otto; brother, Bill Noll; and his nephews, Steven (Kay) Otto, Rick (Katie) Otto, and Mike (Lisa) Otto, and many other family members and friends.

In line with Duck’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held for Duck’s immediate family and a celebration of Duck’s life will be held on April 26th at Neisen’s Riverside Sports Bar in St. Peter, MN starting at 3:00pm.

Instead of flowers, a donation can be made to the Chard Family Youth Outdoor Foundation, a charity that was near to Duck’s heart. You may also honor his memory by enjoying a quiet moment by the water, cheering on the Vikings, or sharing a laugh with a friend—just as Duck would have wanted.
