Donald "Obe" G. Crane

Donald “Obe” G. Crane, age 94, of Garden City, died at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

A Private Service has been held with interment in Garden City Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Blue Earth County Historical Society or the Fire Departments of Vernon Center, Good Thunder, or Lake Crystal.  

Donald Garvin Crane was born September 16, 1929, to Thomas G. and Gela M. (Cox) Crane in Mankato. 

Obe was married to Sue Gustafson on July 10, 1955, and they lived in Garden City their entire married life.

Obe is survived by his sister, Phylis Taylor and her three sons and their wives; Tom and Pat, Larry and Paulette, Don and Neta and their families.  He is also survived by his step-nieces and nephews; Judy and Ken Truebenbach, Sandy (James) Hollerich, Kathi and Gordon Oachs, Jane and Dean Caldwell and many step-great nieces and nephews.

Obe was preceded in death by his wife Sue in 2018; his parents; brother-in-law, Bill Taylor; brother-in-law, Ray Gustafson and his wife, Shirley; and two step-nephews, Dennis Hollerich and James Hollerich.

Obe’s family would like to thank everyone at Hillcrest Rehabilitation for the exceptional care given to him and his wife during their stay with them.
