Donald G. Strong

Donald G. Strong, age 86, of Mankato, died Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Primrose. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary (2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato).  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Northview.  Interment will be in the spring at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens in Montevideo. 

Donald was born on May 24, 1933 in Concordia, KS to William and Bessie (Tatro) Strong.  Don was raised in the sand hills of Ainsworth, NE.  He graduated from Ainsworth High School.  Don was a truck driver for many years, living in Willmar and Mankato. He worked for TrueValue-Cotter and Company for 22 years until his retirement in 1994.  Don enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and cribbage.  He loved time spent at the lake and winters in Arizona. 

Don is survived by his wife, Faye; children, Mark Strong, Tim Strong, Sandy (Bill) Sanderson, Steve (Chris) Kurtzbein, Lynette (Gene) Struck, Deb Franklin, Tim (Joan) Erickson, Todd (Mary) Erickson, and Paula Jo (Lyle) Pater; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, LaVon; and 6 brothers and sisters.
