Donald W. Wolff

Donald William Wolff, age 85, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, at Ecumen Pathstone in Mankato, MN. 

Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 13, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato, with Father Joe Fogal officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 12, at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Monday. The interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Knights of Columbus.

He was born on March 17, 1939, in Mankato; grew up in Madison Lake; and attended Loyola Catholic School in Mankato. After graduation, he trained with the Minnesota National Guard. 

He met his lovely wife, Harriet, at the Mankato Ballroom, and they married on April 28, 1962. They lived in Elysian where he engaged in farming. Donald was a hard worker and enjoyed a good home-cooked meal and country living. He was employed by Brown Printing in Waseca. After retiring, he volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Donald was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus and was strong in faith. He enjoyed gardening, bike rides, fishing, and spending time with his wife. He loved the outdoors, children, and animals, including a couple special cats. Donald was a loyal husband, good father, and affectionate grandfather (who always had ice cream on hand), and will be greatly missed.

Donald is survived by his wife, Harriet Wolff; son, Patrick (Sherri) Wolff of LeCenter, MN; their children, William (significant other, Shannel Neilan) Wolff of LeCenter, MN; Melissa Wolff of LeCenter, MN; Angela Pullin of Ocoee, FL; and grandchildren, Marieana Wolff; Destynee and Treker Wolff; and Jackson and Colton Pullin; son, John (Lisa) Wolff of Waterville, MN; children, Danielle Wolff of Eugene, OR; Stephanie (significant other, Tyler Arndt) Wolff of Mankato, MN; stepgrandchildren, Kyle (Krista) Kalina of Brooklyn Park, MN and Kelsey (Luke) Simon of New Prague, MN; and grandchildren, Jasper Wolff and Alister Arndt; stepgrandchildren, Charlie, Ivan, Halle, and Jameson Simon; and Griffin Kalina; daughter, Jean Wolff of Sioux Falls, SD; daughter, Brenda (Chad) Gusaas of Apple Valley, MN; children, Jade (Blake) Wiig of Plymouth, MN; Kaleb (Bekah) Gunderson of Apple Valley, MN; and Carson Gusaas of Apple Valley, MN; and grandchild, Archer Wiig; son, Brian (Patty) Wolff of Spring Lake Park, MN; their children, Logan and Larissa Wolff; son, David Wolff of Elysian, MN; and brother, Kenneth (significant other, Marilyn Grassmann) Wolff, of Mankato, MN; sisters-in-law, Lois Vik of Mankato, MN and Sally (Steve) Blais of Madison Lake, MN; brother-in-law, Dennis (Sandy) Swanson of South Haven, MN; also many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins from the Wolff and Swanson families. 

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine Cullen Wolff and William A. Wolff of Madison Lake, MN; infant sister, Mary Catherine Wolff; stepmother, Darlene Klemme; stepsiblings, Eileen and Keith Klemme; sister and brother-in law, Eileen and Edward Burns; niece, Shivaun Allen (Burns); sister-in-law, Jane Wolff; niece, Theresa Wolff; mother and father-in-law, Doris Swanson and Donald Swanson; and brother-in-law, Samuel Swanson.
