Donna Mary Blom, age 72, of rural North Mankato went to meet her Heavenly Father on December 12, 2020 after fighting her battles with bone cancer.
A Memorial Service Celebrating Donna’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Belgrade United Methodist Church, 325 Belgrade Avenue, North Mankato. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church. Northview – North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Donna was born April 11, 1948 to Forrest Elmo and Ethyl Gertrude (Reynolds) McCann in Spirit Lake, IA. She graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1966. Donna was united in marriage to David Blom in 1967 at the Methodist Church in Spirit Lake. Donna worked as an administrative assistant for Inter Faculty Organization (Labor Union) at Minnesota State Mankato for 26 years, retiring in 2016. She was a member of Belgrade United Methodist Church and the Ruth Circle.
Donna and David lived in the home that David built at 40273 Judson Bottom Road, North Mankato for the last 43 years. She enjoyed roller skating and roller dancing in her teen years, mowing her yard, time with family and friends, time in the sun, shopping, traveling all over the country, and loved her husband and their children and families.
Donna is survived by her husband of 53 years, David; two sons and their wives, Timothy L. and Patty Blom of Mankato, Jason and Candy Blom of Hutchinson; three grandsons, Timothy J. and wife, Lorena of Mankato, Nathaniel and wife, Jasmine and Kordell all of Hutchinson; sister, Delores “Dee Dee” Warren of Ankeny, IA; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Thelma Mae McCann and Pauline “Paula” Clark; one brother, Stanley McCann.
