Donna Mae (Pierce) Hall, age 91 of North Mankato died peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2020 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato.

Memorial service will be planned for a later date. Private family burial will be held at Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Please feel free to share your favorite memories of Donna for her family at www.mankatomortuary.com.

Donna was born February 20, 1929 in Mankato to Lester and Pearl (Harner) Pierce. She grew up on a farm near St. Clair and graduated from St. Clair High School in June 1948.

She met the love of her life, Jack, at a wedding in November 1947 after he returned from serving overseas in the U.S. Army. They were wed on July 24, 1948. Donna was a homemaker for their family until August 1966 when she started work at JCPenney in Mankato. Donna enjoyed meeting and talking with people wherever she went, making her job at Penney’s a perfect fit.  She made many friends in her 28 years working there. At home, her hobbies included making quilts, knitting, crochet work, and gardening. She and Jack enjoyed attending auctions to find unique pieces to restore for their home.

Donna is survived by her children, Greg (Mary Lou) of Pharr, Texas, Penny (Bruce) Kirby of Courtland, Brad (Joyce) Hall of Bellingham, WA and Brian (Shirley) Hall of Good Thunder; grandchildren, Matthew Hall of Mankato, Joshua Kirby of Sioux Falls, Jacie Chambers (Ted) of Amboy, Adam Hall of St. Clair, and Wyatt Hall of Seattle, WA; great-grandchildren, Justin Chambers of Amboy, and Madisyn and Mikhaila Hall of St. Clair; sisters-in-law,  Dona Pierce of Mankato and Paulette Arebuckle of Conneaut, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; devoted husband, Jack; brother, Glenn Pierce of Mankato; sister, LuJean Bonge of Lincoln, NE;  granddaughter, Morgan Hall of Janesville; sister-n-law and friend, June Thompson of Mankato; and brother-in-law, Daryl Arebuckle of Conneaut, OH.
