Donna Marie Veroeven

Donna Marie Veroeven, age 82, of North Mankato passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023.

Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m., on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Crossview Covenant Church, North Mankato, with visitation one hour prior at the church as well. Burial will be in Kern’s Oak Grove Cemetery.

Donna Marie Veroeven married Raymond David Veroeven at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair on October 17, 1960.  They bought their first home together on a 10-acre hobby farm in North Mankato in 1964, where they raised their children Lisa, Lois, and Wayne.  Donna was an LPN nurse in 1960 at Immanuel St. Joseph hospital until she became a business partner in the Veroeven interior/exterior painting business in 1972 with her husband.  Donna had a special spirit of service and was always found in the kitchen helping during any church festivity.  She also hosted a Christmas coffee party with family, friends, and neighbors for over 50 years. In addition, Donna was a part of the neighborhood Kern’s Birthday Club and Kern’s Oak Grove Cemetery Aid. 

Donna is survived by her husband, Ray; daughters, Lisa (Rick) Haman of Madison Lake, and Lois (Dennis) Peterson of North Mankato; son, Wayne (Kim) Veroeven of North Mankato; grandchildren, Nate (Sara) Peterson, Ashley (Danny) Umhoefer, Chantel Peterson, Malorie (Carter) Foguth, Trevor (Morgan) Haman, Sarah Haman, and Emily Veroeven; great-grandchildren, Brody and Coen Peterson, Ava and Casey Umhoefer, and Camden Foguth; sisters, Vera (Jerry) Serfling, and Rita Loeffler; brother, Cy Denn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Hildegard Denn; brother, Ed Denn, and sister, Mary Ellen Denn. 

A special thanks to Mankato Mayo Hospice (West Team) who helped make Donna’s last months peaceful, and to her friends and neighbors during Donna’s journey.
