Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until the time of the service. Irene was born on October 31, 1937 in Vandalia, Illinois, the daughter of Oscar and Helen (Musser) Henrichsmeyer. She and Donald Harold Stoll were united in marriage on June 8, 1958 in Mt. Pulaski, Illinois. After working in the International Student Admissions Office at the University of Illinois where Don graduated in 1959, she and her family lived for 22 years in northwestern Illinois, where Don was employed as an engineer by General Electric Company. They raised two children, Don, Jr. and Diane. During that time Irene was a member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday school, playing the piano, and serving on several committees. Don formed a business with three friends, and Irene enjoyed being employed there until 1982, when they moved to North Mankato, Minnesota where Don completed his career at Midwest Electric in 1993. Irene was an active member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a faithful church and Bible study attendee and spent many hours volunteering with friends at church, at the Treasure Haus in New Ulm and at New 2 You in North Mankato. She enjoyed her family and friends, music, sports (especially basketball and baseball) and traveling. She and her husband visited all fifty states and several foreign countries.
Irene is survived by one son, Don, Jr. (Diana) of Elgin, Illinois; one daughter, Diane (Russell) Behn of Stokesdale, North Carolina; four granddaughters, Kori Stoll, Kristi (Brandon) Garbrecht, Katie (Robert) Stover, and Shannon Behn; one brother, Larry Henrichsmeyer of Decatur, Illinois; brother-in-law, Darrell (Rita) Stoll of Charlottesville, Virginia; and extended family.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years; one infant son, Mark; her parents; her father-in-law, Harold Stoll and mother-in-law, Eda Stoll; and her sister-in-law, Ilene Henrichsmeyer.
Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with Him, we will also live with Him; if we endure, we will also reign with Him.
2 Timothy 2: 11-12a
There at my Savior’s side
Heav’n is my home.
I shall be glorified
Heav’n is my home.
There are the good and blest
Those I love most and best
And there I, too, shall rest
Heav’n is my home.
