Dorothy Marie Sandvig

Dorothy Marie Sandvig, age 92, of North Mankato passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato, with visitation one hour prior at the church as well. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Northview-North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy was born May 10, 1930, in Mankato, Minnesota to John and Marie Mock Danzer.

She attended St. Peter and Paul’s Elementary School, and Loyola High School.

Dorothy married Arlo Sandvig on August 23, 1951, at St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church.

Dorothy was a member of Holy Rosary Church, CCW, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She was a life member of the Women of the Moose, and the VFW Post 950 Auxillary. She enjoyed bowling and was inducted into the Mankato Hall of Fame in 2019.

She worked at various restaurants in the Mankato area, including the Wagon Wheel for 15 years.

Dorothy is survived by 2 sons, Gary (Nora) Sandvig of North Mankato, and Steve Sandvig of Raleigh, North Carolina; 2 grandsons, Brian (Kelli) Sandvig of North Mankato, and Scott Sandvig (Dena Craig) of Mankato; 2 great-granddaughters, Lydia, and Ivy Sandvig of North Mankato; great-grandson, Crosby Sandvig of North Mankato.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Arlo in 2017; parents, John and Marie Danzer, and her sister, Helen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the VFW Post 950, or to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
