Edgar "Tom" Thomas Brunner, Jr.

Edgar Thomas Brunner, Jr., 89 of North Mankato, died suddenly June 19, 2019 at his home. 

Memorial service will be held 11:00am, Monday, June 24, 2019 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato with visitation starting at 9:30am.  Burial will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato.

Tom was born July 30, 1929 to Edgar, Sr. and Anne (Teill) Brunner in St. James, Minnesota.  He graduated from Mankato High School in 1947 and continued his education at Mankato Commercial College for accounting.  On September 13, 1958 he married Velma Rieck in Spirit Lake, Iowa.  Tom retired from Continental Can after 35 years of service in 1987.  He was a member of Holy Rosary Church in North Mankato.  In his free time, Tom enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening, and bowling.  He also spent many years with his wife, Vel, wintering in Texas. 

Tom is survived by his wife, Velma of 60 years; brothers, Patrick J. (Joan Busch) Brunner of Mankato and Michael (Carol) Brunner of Green Bay, Wisconsin; nieces, Cindy (Jerry) Kolander and Lisa (Scott) Fitterer; nephews, Mark (fiancé, Randi) Brunner and Scott Brunner; and many great nieces and nephews. 

Tom is preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, Brett.
