Edith Mae Dauk

Edith Mae Dauk, 93, of Mankato, passed away May 20, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. The family prefers memorials be given to SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Livestreaming will be available at www.mankatomortuary.com. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family.

Edith was born March 14, 1928 to Paul and Theresa (Klaseus) Fasnacht in Mankato. She grew up in Madison Lake and graduated from Good Counsel Academy in 1946. As a young woman, Edith was a member of “The Fasnacht Sister Trio.” For several years, they enjoyed traveling and singing. They even won a television set during a competition in the early 50s.  On May 1, 1951, Edith married Leo “Pete” Dauk at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. Together they raised three children, Carol, Nancy, and Michael.

In her free time, Edith enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, embroidery, word puzzles, and playing Bingo. Faith was important to Edith. She was a devout Catholic and a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church ever since her marriage to her husband, Pete.

Edith is survived by her children, Carol (Marlin) Portner, Nancy (Bernie) Fasnacht, and Michael (Diane) Dauk; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Charlotte Frederick; and many nieces and nephews.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo “Pete” in 2009; siblings, Charlotte and Sylvia; and many sisters and brothers-in-law.
