Elaine Delores Cramer left this earth to be reunited with her husband of nearly 75 years on December 20, 2022.
Elaine was born to Albert John and Ruby Amanda Drury Dickmeyer on March 22, 1924 in Cairo Township rural Fairfax Minnesota. She attended country parochial school, graduating from Fairfax High School in 1941. Following attendance to The LaSalle Ave. Medical Secretarial School she was employed at the Drs. Hammermeister/Saffert Offices. She then entered and graduated from The Swedish Hospital School of Nursing followed by employment at Loretta Hospital in New Ulm, MN. She worked many years as an R.N. at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato MN.
Elaine was united in marriage to Robert Cramer on July 11, 1947 at St. John Lutheran Church Fairfax, MN. Their marriage was blessed with three children. Until her recent stay at Monarch Meadows she spent their entire marriage in Mapleton, Minnesota.
Over the years she served on various church and community activities: The Town & Country Leisure Center, Farm America, and Meals on Wheels. Spending time with her family during the early years of marriage was truly precious to her. Fishing and camping at Cut Foot Sioux Lake Winnie nearly every vacation time. Later she and Bob took time to travel in their trailer and on tour trips. They were interested in history wherever they traveled.
Elaine enjoyed gardening, ballroom dancing, reading, playing cards and just being with friends and family.
