Elaine L. Peterson

Elaine L. Peterson, age 84, left you on Saturday, July 11, 2020. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the Lake Crystal Mortuary. Masks are encouraged, but not required. Lake Crystal Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Elaine was born December 30, 1935 in Minneapolis, MN to Alice C. Charland and Francis “Bud” Charland.

Elaine graduated from South High School in Minneapolis and attended Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

She was blessed to enjoy an avocation as opposed to a vocation. Elaine Retired in 2001, after 40 years of service, from KEYC-TV and never worked a day.

In 1994 she received a Minnesota Broadcasters Association Award for Outstanding Personality. In 2001 she received CBS Television Eye on Excellence Award, and in 2002 she was inducted into National Academy of Television Arts and Science Silver Circle.

Elaine spent many years with family and friends skiing at Ski Haven (now Mount Kato) and ski vacationing. Summers dedicated to gardening, and all year round sharing chocolate with family, friends and strangers.

Survivors include son, Joe, Lake Crystal; nieces and nephews; friends and neighbors. Preceding her in death is her husband, Ron on July 19, 2015; parents, and brother, Don.
