Erna K. Schroeder

Erna K. Schroeder, age 83, of Mankato, died Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Oaklawn Health Care Center, after a short illness.

Graveside service 10:00 a.m., July 20, 2019 at Glenwood Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., July 19 at Mankato Mortuary.

Erna was born July 21, 1935 to John and Martha (Warkentin) Krahn in Mountain Lake.  She graduated from Mountain Lake High School. She was a born caregiver was employed in health care her whole life including Comfrey Hospital, Fairmont Hospital, and Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital.  She loved traveling and Elvis music.

Erna is survived by her sister, Mabel Ewy of Mankato; and many friends.

Erna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Freddie; special friend, Ralph Baumgartner; brother-in-law, Mel Ewy; and extended family.

The family of Erna Schroeder is very grateful for the excellent care that she received from the staff at Oaklawn Health Care Center and Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice. Memorials could be designated to Mayo Hospice or to the donor’s choice.
