Evelyn "Eve" McMurlyn

Evelyn “Eve” McMurlyn, age 85, of Mankato, passed away at her home on Monday, December 7, 2020.

Visitation will be 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Masks and social distancing are required. Private family interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Mankato at a later date.

Evelyn Joan, the daughter of Benjamin and Anna (Klein) Decker, was born on April 18, 1935 in Mankato. She married Stuart McMurlyn on June 13, 1953 in Mankato and he preceded her in death in 1997. Eve was a homemaker and raised her 6 children before she was employed at Lutheran Social Services for 23 years and most recently, Orness Plaza. She was a member of the Eagle’s Auxiliary 269. Eve had a generous heart – “MA AND GRANDMA” to everyone.

She is survived by her children, Rose (Curtis) Wuollet of Willmar, Lori (Jeff) Nelson of Mapleton, Dan “Boone” McMurlyn of Mankato, Janine McMurlyn of Mankato, and Renata (Ricky) Metzler of Lake Crystal; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stuart McMurlyn; son, David McMurlyn; great grandson, Kyle Johnson; and 6 brothers and 1 sister.
