Everett William Ward, age 80 of rural Mapleton, died Saturday October 12, 2019 at his home.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Saturday. Burial at Medo McPherson Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Huntington Foundation. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Everett William Ward was born September 13, 1939 to William and Fern (Tyrrell) Ward in Mankato Minnesota. He was united in marriage Sharon Willette on August 19, 1961 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Easton, MN. Everett and Sharon made their home on his grandfather’s farm in rural St. Clair to raise their family. Everett worked at National Poly in Mankato for 30 years before retiring. He also served in the Minnesota National Guard.
Everett was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair. He collected and owned antique farm equipment and classic cars. Everett enjoyed Western Movies, gardening the Vikings socializing with family and playing cards.
Everett is survived by his wife, Sharon; two children, Susan Templin of Biloxi, MS, Michael (Leanne) Ward of Raleigh, NC; six grandchildren, Brandon (Jennifer Sterling) Templin, Kiefer (Peyton) Templin, Dustin Nickel-Templin (Charles Nickel-Templin), Alissa (Andrew) Keith, Matthew Ward, Jamie Ward; three great-grandchildren, Ryker, Sterling and Foster Templin; sister, Linda (Tom) Fierge of Parry, MO; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, William and Fern Ward; son-in-law John Templin, two brothers, Jerry and Dale Ward.
