Faye Therese Michaletz

Faye Therese Michaletz (Casper) died peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Ecumen Pathstone Living in Mankato at the age of 87.

Faye was born on June 17, 1932 to Milton “Cass” and Agnes (Boda) Casper in Detroit, MI. She graduated from Cleveland High School and attended St. Catherine’s University. Faye married Gerald F. “Jerry” Michaletz on May 17, 1952 in Cleveland. In 1960, they moved to Mankato, and in their later years, also enjoyed their home on Leech Lake near Walker, MN and retirement in Goodyear, AZ.

Faye was loved by many people who appreciated her compassion, sweetness, and kindness. She created many beautiful homes, 22 to be exact, while she and Jerry were married. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with Jerry to many countries around the world, and working in various gift shops in Mankato (The Emerald Cuckoo), Walker, and Goodyear.

Faye is survived by her children, Michele Mayama (Chris LaFontaine) of St. Paul, Patrice Michaletz Onody of Aurora, CO, Scott Michaletz (Gail) of North Mankato, Joe Michaletz (Christine) of North Mankato, and Megan Hinton (Tim) of North Mankato; daughter-in-law, Sue Michaletz of Minnetonka; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Jerry Michaletz; son, Cass Michaletz; and son-in-law, Steven Onody.

Visitation will be held from 4-7pm, Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary. Memorial Mass will be 10:30am, Friday, November 8, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland.
