Gary J. Gintner, age 70, of Belgrade Township, died on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at his home.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary. Private burial will be at St. Michaels Cemetery, Belgrade Township. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Mayo Hospice.
Gary was born on September 13, 1953 in Mankato to Wilfred “Bill” and Norma (Benson) Gintner. He graduated from Mankato West High School in 1971. On May 23, 1980, Gary was united in marriage to Deborah Harris at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato. Gary was a lifelong resident of Belgrade Township where he farmed on the family farm that was homesteaded by his ancestors in the 1800’s. He was a soybean, corn, and hog farmer. Gary was a vegetable gardener and shared everything he grew with others. Gary and his daughter, Andrea owned and operated Granary Designs since 2017. They made signs, trays, clocks, boxes, flags and sold them at craft shows.
Gary is survived by his wife, Deb of Belgrade Township; children, Rachel Schott of Mankato, Robert Gintner of St. Louis Park, and Andrea (Justin) Hawker of North Mankato; grandchildren, Britton (Katie) Schott of West Bend, WI, Amara Schott of Mankato, Tianna Schott of Hartford, WI, and Blake and Jace Hawker of North Mankato; great-grandchildren, Henrey and Chloe Schott and Isla Schott; sister, Mary (Fran) Nardella of Scottsdale, AZ; brother, John Gintner (Donna) of Red Wing; brother-in-law, Richard Harris of Mahtomedi, MN; sister-in-law, Barbara Wegge of Prescott Valley, AZ; and many close friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his son, Aaron and his parents.
