Gary S. Kremer, age 75, of Mankato, died surrounded by family, Saturday, March 29, 2025.
Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at the church. Interment with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, VINE, or the American Cancer Society.
Gary was born April 7, 1949, to Donald E. and Helen M. (Myhill) Kremer in Mankato. He graduated from Loyola High School in 1967. Gary was employed by Continental Can until his deployment with the U.S. Army where he served in the Vietnam War from 1969-71, until he was honorably discharged.
Gary was united in marriage to Victoria “Vicky” Oglesby on July 1, 1972, in Mankato.
Gary was employed by the City of North Mankato in the parks department from 1977 until retiring in 2008.
Gary was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, VINE where he volunteered, and the VFW Post 950 where he was past commander and a member of the memorial honor guard.
Gary enjoyed hunting, playing cards, and pool.
Gary is survived by his wife, Vicky of Mankato; two daughters, Stacey (Leonard) Dawley of Mankato and Laurie (Chad) Weiler of Eagle Lake; four grandchildren, Amber and Jordan Dawley, Abbygail and Kaylee Weiler; four great-grandchildren, Sophie, Lexi, Waylon, and Elizabeth Lewis; five siblings, Kathy (Tim) Eggersdorfer, Mike (Kathy) Kremer, Mary Storlein, Steve (Bonnie) Kremer, and Jeff (Brenda) Kremer; brother-in-law, Doug Briggs; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karen Briggs; and brother-in-law, Myron Storlein.
