Gary D. Roberts

Gary Dean Roberts, age 71, of Garden City, died Thursday, May 23, 2024, at his home.

A Memorial Service Celebrating Gary’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 7, 2024 at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary.  Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11 a.m., Friday at Northview.  Interment will be in Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, MN.

Memorials may be given to the Garden City Cemetery.

Gary was born April 1, 1953, to Russell and Gladys G. (Lafavor) Roberts in Mankato.  He attended school thru the 8^th grade in Garden City and graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture High School.

Gary was a farmer his entire life.  He was extremely hardworking and cared well for his animals and land.  He started out milking cows and later raised beef cattle, mammoth chickens, turkeys, and prize-winning vegetables.  He enjoyed helping his neighbors and friends.  He worked for LCWM Schools, Big Gain, MTU, Krosch Brothers, Blue River Excavating, and Valley Veggies.

Gary enjoyed deer hunting, goose hunting, and being in nature.

Gary is survived by his brother, John (Jan) Roberts of Faribault; sister, Lori (Edward) Miklavcic of Libertyville, IL; two nephews and one niece, Jim (Brittany) Roberts of Janesville, Chip Miklavcic, and Christine Miklavcic; special cousins Julie, Carrie, and Amber and extended family.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
