Glenice K. Karnes

Glenice K. Karnes, passed away peacefully at 6:48 PM on July 19, 2023, at the age of 61 years old. 

A Celebration of Glenice’s Life will be from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the Eagle’s Club in Mankato.

Glenice was born on May 22, 1962, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Martin G. and Sandra K. (Kaiser) Johnson. Glenice is lovingly remembered as a loving caring, hard working woman who was always going above and beyond for those in her life, and even strangers.   “I like my work, I love my family, and JKMN is my favorite ‘child’”. She dedicated her last several years to her business partnership with Sara Kriehn, at K & K Payroll and tax. She was an active member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxillary at her local chapter in Mankato MN. 

Glenice is survived by her  mother, Sandra Johnson; children, Jeremy (Amanda) Meyer (39), Monica Meyer (37), and Mallory Meyer (35); step-children, JoWayne Olson, Chad (Tammy) Meyer, Tonia (Shaun) Kopplin; grandchildren, Savannah (16), Steven (14), Leland (13), and Daxton (3); sister, Gena (Walt) Damgaard; and extended family.

Glenice was preceded in death by her father, Martin Johnson (February 2010); husband (1983-1994) Steven Meyer (March 21, 1994); second husband (2008-2017) Rick Karnes (January 16, 2017); maternal grandparents, Fred and Laurel (Schleuter) Kaiser; paternal grandparents, Martin M. and Bessy M. (McGlaughin) Johnson.
