Gordon Keith Harman

Gordon Keith Harman, age 89 of St. Peter, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2023, at Grace Baptist Church in Mankato. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to Grace Baptist Church. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Gordon was born October 7, 1934, on a farm in southwest of Boyden, IA. To Kenneth and Anna (Verdoorn) Harman. In 1940 he moved with his family to a farm near Lake Wilson, MN. He graduated from Lake Wilson High School in 1953. Gordon served his country in the US Army from 1954 – 1955 as was honorably discharged as SP-4. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Preston on April 7, 1957, in Lake Wilson, MN.

The family moved to St. Peter in 1967. He was employed as an auto mechanic in the area for 10 years. Worked at Gustavus Adolphus College and then started his career with the State of Minnesota as a boiler engineer for 30 years. Gordon also drove school bus for 30 years.

Gordon was a member Grace Baptist Church, Police Reserve for St. Peter Police Department. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with his family.

Gordon is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marilyn; four sons, Steven (Judy), Donald, Duane, and Michael (Sue); many grandchildren; many, many great-grandchildren; sister, Pat; three brothers, Verlin, Allen, and Roland.

Preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law, Jody; five siblings, Barb, Delores, Vernon, Larry, and Virgil.
