Ileen Ida Kreutzer, 98, of Mankato, died June 2, 2022 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato. Visitation will take place from 5-7 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato. Livestreaming will be available at www.mankatomortuary.com.
Ileen was born September 3, 1923 to Oscar and Agnes (Zabel) Attenberger in Danville Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. In the early 1930s, her family moved to the Mankato area. On June 7, 1946, she married Robert Kreutzer in Mankato. Together they raised two children, Anita and Paul. Ileen was a homemaker and after her children were grown, she ran the childcare center at the Victory Bowl in Mankato for many years.
Ileen was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary, sang with the church choir, and helped as a lunch lady in the school cafeteria. In her free time, she enjoyed watching sports and taking care of her home, yard, and garden. Ileen was a wonderful cook and baker and made the world’s best pies!
Ileen is survived by her children, Anita (Rick) Boyer and Paul (Arlene) Kreutzer; grandchildren, Jason, Rachel, Molly (Rob), Candice (Roger), Kim (Mike), and Ashley (Chet); 12 great grandchildren; and brother, Donald (Deb) Attenberger.
Ileen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 2008; parents; and siblings, Lila, Marvin, Gladys, and Luverne.
