Iona Elizabeth Bursaw

Iona Elizabeth Bursaw, age 100, of Madison Lake, died Friday, October 18, 2019 at Brookdale Senior Living in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 11am, Friday, October 25, 2019 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Please share a memory of Iona with her family at www.mankatomortuary.com.

Iona was born June 11, 1919 in Janesville to Elmer and Claira (Miller) Fox. She was raised in Mankato and attended Mankato West High School. Iona was united in marriage to Percy Bursaw and they made their home in the Madison Lake area. She worked at Sears for many years and volunteered at ISJ Hospital for 40 years. Iona was a faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and close family friends.

Iona was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Claira Fox; husband, Percy, in 1978; brothers, E. Dewey (Thelma) Fox and Frank (Anne) Fox; and sister, Ella (Warren) Olson.
