Jack Lee Christiansen, age 94, of St. Peter, died Monday, December 27, 2021 at Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.

 

Private graveside service will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Mankato. Please share a memory of Jack with his family online at www.mankatomortuary.com. Memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato.

 

Jack was born September 1, 1927 in Tyler, Minnesota to Hans and Dorothy Christiansen and grew up in Springfield, MN. He joined the U.S. Army during World War II and served on a Merchant Marine ship in France in 1945. He returned to Minnesota and graduated from Springfield High School in 1946. Jack was united in marriage to Marion Gould on January 9, 1947 and they were blessed with two children.

 

Shortly after their marriage, Jack and Marion relocated to Minneapolis where he attended the Minnesota School of Business. He worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for 2 years. In 1950, Jack began working for Mankato Stone Company and retired in 1979. He later worked for Johnson Fishing and retired in 1985.


In his spare time, Jack loved traveling in his motorhome.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Connie (Arlen) Ketelsen of West Des Moines, IA; son, Charles (Marilyn) Christiansen of St. Peter; grandchildren, Jessica Ketelsen, Aaron (Taylor) Ketelsen, Chad (Jenny) Christiansen, and Alex Christiansen; and great-grandchildren, Brayden Schwerzler and Mason Christiansen.

 

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Marion.
