Jacob "Jake" John Busse

Jacob “Jake” John Busse, age 43 of Garden City passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020. Funeral service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mankato at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020 with visitation 2 hours prior at the church as well. Private family burial will take place in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jake was born in Mankato, MN on January 11, 1977. He attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School, Immanuel Lutheran High School, and South Central College, where he received an Associate Degree in Swine Husbandry.

Jake worked in the swine industry several years, drove truck for several years, and for a number of years worked several positions at Crown Cork and Seal. Jake was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, having served on the Property Board. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing, campfires, Dutch oven cooking, cutting firewood, smoking meats, making wine, and baking treats. Jake loved to be with family, especially his nephews and nieces.

Jake is survived by his parents, David and Julie Busse of rural Mankato; siblings, Daniel Busse of rural Vernon Center, MN, Elisabeth (Eric) Weaver of Round Lake, IL, Benjamin (Amy) Busse of rural Madelia, MN, Peter (Gwendolynn) Busse of rural Mankato, MN, Rebekah Busse of Wonder Lake, IL, and Aaron Busse of rural Mankato, MN; nieces and nephews, Jonah Weaver, Marshal Weaver, Lawson Weaver, Tessa Weaver, Cloe Busse, and Damian Busse; grandma, Norma Busse of rural Mankato, MN, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as his significant other, Tiffany. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed (Gert) Stavenau, and Erv Busse.
