James Lee Gersemehl

James Lee Gersemehl, age 69, of Mankato, died Friday, February 14, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary with visitation two hours prior. Please share a memory of Jim with his family at www.mankatomortuary.com.

James was born January 11, 1951 to William and JoAnn (Mohr) Gersemehl in St. Cloud, MN. He graduated in 1969 from Faribault High School and attended Mankato State University. He went onto work for the Minnesota Security Hospital and retired after 28 years of service in corrections as a lead guard.

Jim married Pamela Kletschka Dauk on June 22, 2007 and was an avid fly fisherman, hunter, decoy and antique restorer. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Jim was an astute conversationalist.

Jim is survived by his wife, Pamela Gersemehl of Mankato; children, Jennifer Gersemehl of North Carolina, Emily (Alex) Cohill of North Carolina; Nicole Dauk of Waseca, Lindsey (Andrew) Lambert of Cleveland, Andrew (Brittney) Dauk of Cleveland, Bryan (Christine Worke) Dauk of Cleveland; grandchildren, Harper, Silas, Destiny, Travis, Anistyn, Kennedy, and Theo; siblings, Nancy (Jim)  Davis, Terry (Nen) Gersemehl, Mary (Randy) Johnson, and Robert (Connie) Gersemehl; in-laws, Richard Kletschka, Rick (Barb) Kletschka, Roger Kletschka, Dorothea Kletschka, Cindie Broshears, Roxy (Scott) Tolzmann, Robin (Kevin) Nordberg; many nieces and nephews; and their beloved family pet, Lilly-la-roo.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
