James “Jim” R. Biddle, age 82, of Amboy, passed away on March 28, 2022, at the Mapleton Community Home in Mapleton, Minnesota. James was born on May 15, 1939, to Robert William and Claudia Mae (Whorton) Biddle in Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from Demopolis High School, Demopolis, AL and then Auburn University with a degree in business. Jim served his country with the U.S. Airforce from 1962-1974 and was then in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1984-1994. Jim was stationed all over the world including Taiwan, Newfoundland, Philippines, Korea, Vietnam, Alaska and various other locations within the U.S. Jim married Vivian Chilgren in 1963 at Baudette, Minnesota. They had two children and later divorced. Jim moved to Amboy in 1974. He owned and operated the hardware store in Vernon Center for several years. Jim later worked at Community Bank working in banking and selling insurance, eventually retiring from Shelby Farmers Mutual Insurance in Amboy. Jim married Shirley (Heins) Schuldt on April 11, 1980. Jim was an active member of the Amboy American Legion Post 276, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Amboy where he served as past council president, and was very involved with the Amboy community. Jim is survived by his two children, Dana (Chuck Majeske) DeVore and Derek (Irina) Biddle; three stepchildren; Douglas (Mary) Schuldt, Scott (Lori) Schuldt, and Paula Schuldt; grandchildren, many of whom will fondly remember him as “Grandpa Y’all”, Kindra DeVore, Erika Schuldt, Kristine Schuldt, Todd (Melody) Schuldt, Michael (Sarah) Schuldt, Brian (Carrie) Schuldt, Lisa (Elliot) Tenner, Brad (Becca) Schuldt; great-grandchildren Daitin Cumeralto, James, Jaxon, Cora, and Kai Schuldt; Hallie, Charlee, and Parker Tenner; and extended family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley on September 13, 2020. Jim's Service will be livestreamed at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022.
