Jane Ann Collins, 88 of Mankato, passed away March 15, 2019 at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00a.m., Thursday, March 21, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
We want to thank Cottagewood staff for taking the best care of Jane this past year and a half.
Jane was born April 7, 1930 to Garland F. and Laurine V. (Talley) Johnston in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School and attended St. Catherine College. On June 16, 1951 she was united in marriage to Patrick Thomas Collins in Fort Dodge. Jane worked for the downtown council and she also leased shopping mall properties. She owned and operated a Hallmark Store in Spencer, Iowa for twelve years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and enjoyed golfing, singing, dancing, playing cards, and being with family.
Jane is survived by her husband, Patrick; children, James Collins of Davison, North Carolina, Colleen (Rob) Krebs of Chanhassen, Minnesota, and Elizabeth (John) Hovelsrud of Leawood, Kansas; grandchildren, Nicholas, Aaron, and Sam Krebs, Molly (Frank) Jackman Joey and Danny Hovelsrud; two great-granddaughters, Ella and Rylee Jackman. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Elaine Hanson and brother, Edward Johnston.
