Jan Hedge, age 64, of Elysian, died Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at her home. She received the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in August 2018, which was met with grace, dignity, and determination. Many obstacles made for an uphill climb, but Jan fought hard through it all.
Visitation will be held from 4-7pm, Friday, May 3, 2019 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary with the rosary beginning at 3:45pm. Memorial Mass will be 11am, Saturday, May 4, 2019 at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake with visitation one hour prior. Following Mass, a Celebration of Life with a time of memory sharing will continue at The Purple Goose Eatery and Saloon in Janesville.
Jan was born October 28, 1954 to James J. and Mary Ann (Siemieniewski) Baker in Breckenridge, MN. She attended schools in Mankato. Jan married Keith Hedge on May 14, 1976 at St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church in Mankato. When they were first married, they made their home in Mankato. Later they moved to Eagle Lake in 1977 where they lived for 40 years before building their home in Elysian in 2017.
Her professions were in the fields of nursing, pharmaceutical sales, and hearing aid specialist. Jan enjoyed meeting and caring for her clients and became a friend to many of them.
Please remember Jan for her caring, classy, and fun-loving spirit. She lived life to the fullest. Boating, gardening, playing pool, and socializing with friends and family, especially at the lake were among her favorite activities. Jan was forever thankful for sharing her life with her husband, Keith, and daughter, Karisa, along with her broad circle of friends.
Jan acknowledged and appreciated the wonderful care she received in the most recent months, by her family, friends, and Mayo Clinic Hospice Team.
Survivors are her husband, Keith of Elysian; daughter, Karisa (John) Hastings of Prior Lake; grandchildren, Isaac, Ethan, and Evelyn; siblings, Peter (Cindi) Baker of Mankato, Mary (Art) Shelton of Alma, Arkansas, Caryle (Ken) Cummings of Mankato, Jim Baker of Elysian, Donna (Tom) Haley of Madison Lake, Gayle (Paul) Lenz of De Pere, Wisconsin, John (Beth) Baker of North Mankato; Brenda Baker of Mankato, and Eric (Rande) Baker of Mankato and numerous nieces and nephews.
